I really enjoyed this movie. It was very entertaining and you can tell that the actors have a lot of respect for each other and an immense connection. The movie continuously keeps you engage, guessing, and on the edge of your seat. It definitely an expect the unexpected sort of situation. As a HUGE fan of the first film, I was not disappointed. The cast was incredible and delivered some strong performances. I especially applaud Janet Jackson, you could really feel her pain, joy, ups and downs. The whole cast was just amazing, and this film exceeded my expectations. Usually I am not a fan of <more>
sequels, when in my opinion, a story is wrapped up. But I enjoyed the exploration of each of the couple's complexities and how Tyler Perry dug deeper and explored the dynamics of each relationship and each character as a whole.
I really liked this movie and everything about it. It was not predictable at all to me and very surprised by the ending. I really like that even when everyone seemed happy, they weren't perfect. That would have been annoying. Janet Jackson did an excellent job, which most of the emotion from her came from her brother passing away doing the making of the movie. Her role was believable and I loved it.I didn't like that the death of one of the cast members but I understand that it was needed in the movie. I love Tyler Perry and while this isn't my favorite movie by him it is a great <more>
movie in its own right. What more can I say other then I loved this movie and definitely cant wait until I buy it on DVD. Keep up the good work Mr. Perry, forget the nay sayers, and just keep doing great work. I will continue to buy all of your movies and plays if you keep doing that. LOVE!!! this movie. :-
This installment was even better than the first. It was obvious that Perry used Janet Jackson's grief over Michael Jackson's death in her performance, because she was 100% better in this flick than the original, showing much more emotion & actually squirting some tears! I wouldn't be surprised if Janet got some kinda nod for her performance even if she doesn't win. Overall this was a great movie with quite a few twists & surprises. Hated losing a beloved character, but looking forward to seeing how the surprise ending plays out in the third installment which I predict <more>
will be called "Why Did I Get Married - Again!" Go see it you won't be disappointed! All of the actors and actresses were excellent!
This movie is a great comedy for the family, couples, and even yourself. I saw the first movie a couple of months ago and loved it. I do have to admit that even though the first movie is not Oscar material, it is definitely romantic, lovely, and funny. I did not expected less from the the second part of the movie. If I compare this movie to "Couples Retreat" and other similar movies, "Why Did I Get Married Too" tops them all. It is extremely comical and it has very lovely scenes that teach you life lessons. It has many scenes that are not expected and thus lets the viewers <more>
very surprised.I am a very hard critic when it comes to movies. For me to give a 9/10 to this movie it is because it deserves. A movie worth watching that guarantees a good laugh and will make you think about marriage relationships in general. Thus far the best movie I've seen in 2010. A must see movie for everyone!
The acting was excellent and the movie pulled me in from great beginning to great middle to great end (by Jackpollins)
I've always been a Tyler Perry fan. I've liked all of his movies, and his new film, Why Did I Get Married, Too doesn't break that fact. The film follows four couples as they go on vacation & what happens after the vacation. It's a solid, well crafted film from beginning to end. The film's tense when it needs to be tense and funny when it needs to be funny. There are rumors going around that Tyler Perry wants to stop making Madea films, and if non-Madea films continue this way, I will have no problem with that. This is the sequel to the fantastic 2007 film, and this one <more>
is also fantastic. A lot of it is a drama, so go in expecting to laugh a bit, but not too much. It's fun either way. It's sad this film is opening the same weekend as Clash Of The Titans because this is surprisingly the far superior film. I liked the acting quite a bit, especially from Janet Jackson who plays a woman getting a divorce who is, even to some dangerous points, stressed out by the whole thing. Tyler Perry doesn't have much screen time but when he is on the screen he is on fire. This is surprisingly one of the excellent films I saw this year. I say skip Clash Of The Titans & see this, because even if you're a Tyler Perry fan like myself, you will be pleasantly surprised by this extremely satisfying film.
I really loved the first movie. It was so funny and you could learn a lot about relationship and how should you deal with your partner but the second one was way too intense but funny as well. I hated all the fighting between Patricia and Gavin but I understand that their marriage couldn't always be perfect. They had to have problems too. I really hoped they could fix things and their marriage. I didn't really know why they were fighting at the first place only the fact that Patricia said she didn't love him anymore and it made so sad and angry that he died. Really hated the <more>
ending, the fact that Gavin died and the fact that she meet The Rock with a smile !!!
Good Movie, Interesting view of marriage (by 4taz)
How to begin? Well, TP must have asked that question as the first few scenes reintroduces all of the characters and a quasi time-line from the last movie. Like the first movie which focused on Sheila and Mike's marriage, this movie focuses on Patricia and Gavin. You'll see all sorts of normal marriage blunders, some with solutions, one without and one that explodes. Angela and husband provide comic relief to offset the drama.......and there is dark drama. This movie does not tie everything in nice neat, Hollywood ending and coupled with the dark drama, makes it very different from the <more>
first. If TP wants, there could be a third installment with a focus on another couple. There were two short scenes that should have been left on the editing floor, and the ending was characteristically rushed but beyond that, I enjoyed it. Oh, last gripe......I wish the funny lines weren't so close together, I missed some of them laughing at others. The audience laughed, gasped..and at times were very quiet. The acting was good, but I haven't seen Janet this good since she was Penny.
I see a lot of critical reviews of this movie so I had to comment. I haven't seen the 1st movie so I had no basis going into this movie. The beginning was slow to start but it did a great job getting me caught up with who the characters were. As the movie progressed to the middle & end my attention was kept & I thought the movie was good. Now I do have 1 complaint. I felt the movie was rushed. Well the ending. I wish Tyler would have dug a little deeper in the resolutions of issues. We found out that Tyler was getting cheated on by his wife. Other than 1 scene about it they never <more>
discussed it again. I would have liked to see them sit down & discuss what were the reasons for her infidelity. Marcus & his wife were just crazy & I think the resolution with them was the fact that there wasn't a resolution. I'd like to see them in marriage counseling. The also felt the Mike having cancer story line was thrown in at the last minute. They really didn't develop that story. lastly, Janet & her husband didn't have a resolution.I think there was a great opportunity here to show how the couples worked thru their issues. Instead all their issues were swept under the rug. The year later scene with Janet should have been a snapshot of all of the couples & the steps they were taking to work on their marriage.Overall it was a good movie but it still left something to be desired.
