The Starship Troopers For Zombie Fans. (by baehr_adam)
Wow did I love this movie. I'm a huge horror fanatic. I especially love zombie films and this movie was Insane. I have now seen 5 of the 2015 ADH Films including Bastard,Unnatural and Lumberjack Man which were all Awesome. My reviews are up for those as well and I also saw Suspension which sucked but here is my review for this film. I will start with the story which is your standard affair being a zombie outbreak happened and 5 years later they are still trying to contain the outbreak and civilize America once again. The story was told with a camera perspective like the movie Quarantine <more>
or REC both being the same film. I felt they did a fine job though with the camera work and the angles. I will now move onto the acting which was cast terrifically. I mean everyone was great especially Scott Adkins and Roger Cross who everyone knows from 24. I will move onto the kills which was your typical zombie foray with a lot of blood and firepower. I mean I expected more gore but what they had was fine with me. I must say that what really made this film Superb for me was the in between moments with commercials going on within the movie just like in RoboCop and Starship Troopers. I found them to be hilarious and definitely made the film more approachable to someone who might not like these types of films. I would further state that the movie while only 87 minutes long felt a lot longer due to those commercials within the film. I will finish by saying that if you love zombie films then you must check this movie out without a question. I guarantee you will love it. I will say that if you combined RoboCop and Starship Troopers and 28 Days Later in a threesome then this is the movie you would get and that is why it's so Epic in my opinion. Thanks and have a Fantastic Day.
This is a zombie film which smartly satirizes modern culture. The story is told as a TV program, after all that is the reality most of us know about the world. "Re-Kill" is a reality TV program that travels with R-D 8 Re-kill Division 8 . They are killing zombies, although officially the war is over. The question is raised, "How do we know when we win?" as a way to describe our modern war on terror. Reality TV shows are also satirized when we see a behind the scenes filming of a person describing where they were when the outbreak happened. She gets the name of her <more>
boyfriend wrong and asks for the fifty dollars at the end. Fake anti-zombie supplements are being sold on TV as well as a promotion for sex and cigarettes. And oh yes the legitimate phramaceiticals are being taunted as a way to cope with grief.Zombies are called "re-ans" as they were caused by the re-ans virus, perhaps short for re-animation. The film hints that the virus was created by China and launched against Taiwan. San Francisco was nuked and NYC has a wall around it. One of the main characters is Alex Winston Bruce Payne who is one of "God's warriors" and believes in divine judgement and that the government has an underground facility for the best and brightest called "The Ark."As a regular zombie film, it leaves something to be desired. They know the brain stem must be destroyed and should be using weapons designed to take off a man's head and not maim him. The ending of the film, "The Judas Project" I didn't get the satire it was attempting to depict unless it was science destroys the world as they attempt to save it? Watch it for the satire.Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.
This movie is the Citizen Kane of Zombie films. By naming any one thing about this film's greatness, it would spoil the surprise you are in for. Go into this film without watching the trailer or reading a review, you are going to enjoy this ride.I will be buying this film and adding it to my personal collection. Sometimes God really does create miracles. And this film is a gift from God. 10/10This film is still in select theaters, It is definitely worth a full price ticket. Grab yourself some popcorn and a cold soda and see this masterpiece on the big screen.
Love it ! (by raphaelclayette)
Wow ! I saw quit a lot of those infection movies: doomsday, day of the dead, resident evil, the crazies, world war Z, 28 days later ec....But this one find a new way into the classic infection-movie genre. Despite not being very original, its TV-show-orientation is very well-done and entertaining. The general theme is nice. The "fake"TV shots are good. The characters nicely depicted. The scenario is not perfect some default there and there, or little bit of emptiness , but overall a very decent realisation, which would justify a second part. I think it is really fresh to the zombie <more>
genre, and worth your time if you like it. I still think IMDb should stop asking for a minimum of 10 lines for us to be able to publish a comment. Some good comments might be 2-3 lines and still bring real value to the reader.
I found this among the best-ever movies of it genre. It reminded me of Network and Putney Swope and some others. Wonderfully detailed, nearly verisimilitude, great mockumentary, funny as heck, look for "wrangler" credits.Like Network, which seemed so improbable until we realized that virtually every detail of Network came to be, this movie presents huge sci-fi/horror speculation that also bears a lot of resemblance to current events. The commercials were among the best parts.Greg
So Refreshing! (by rvoigt-566-198480)
I've GOT to give high marks for this one. That ain't easy to say about what basically is another Zombie flik. noticed how I capitalized Zombie? Yea. they're that important .Great production values all around. great acting a believable script, very little cgi, really good dialogue and believable characters. What else can one ask for? Oh! How about tons of Zombie kills with some pretty amazing action scenes that are well done, and that's getting rare these days.I think the storyline is clever as well. Movie plays as a reality show with really cool commercials. Refreshing new <more>
kind of premise which shows someone got really creative. I like that. 8/10 strong 8
I am sorry that this movie waited ages in the basement. I don't know whose idea was that but that guy should be put in a jail. The movie is purely for action fans. Scott Adkins fans may be a little bit upset because his screening time is not like Undisputed sagas. He wont do any martial art movements also but the movie is great overall. The low budget was a problem but still with that they managed to do good works. Sometimes they are using the shaky camera so much, but you can not hide the low budget effects otherwise. I don't know why the didn't release that movie years but i <more>
liked this way more than World War Z. If they would release on time but if they would do that, it would be no match for other movies. 8/10
First thing's first; if you hate shaky-cam then you won't be able to stand this movie, because there is a lot of it. Otherwise this is a great zombie movie that draws heavily from Starship Troopers to give a satirical look at a zombie apocalypse via reality shows, news reports and commercials. The acting and writing are both decent and make for an enjoyable experience overall, again if it falls down anywhere it is in the action scenes where the attempt to give a realistic feel to being in such a situation leads to a lot of confusing and sickly camera movements. There is certainly <more>
something to be said for the film's commitment to its world and dedication to putting its audience into the action.Overall the segments away from the main story make this worth watching, and the main segment itself is pretty compelling if you can look past the occasional camera craziness. A sequel with a bigger budget could do really well for itself and this could easily turn into a fun horror franchise if the standards are kept up.
